Adjusting test scores on "wrong" answers Merged

I've used automatic grading, but I have not found a way to adjust a score if a student spells a word wrong. I would like to be able to give the students credit by adjusting the score but I can't. I record the correct score in my grade book, but I would like a permanent record of it on the test also.

I've attached an image to give you an idea of what I mean.

This is the same idea as the post ITSL-I-822

What we mean is like a "manual regrade" option where a teacher can override the score assigned by the computer. So if it isn't exactly matching the "answer key" (like a misspelling of a word) we can choose to alter how to the computer scores the question.

To be honest, EVERY other platform I have worked on that has an assessment tool has a manual regrade ability. I personally feel this is one of the major downfalls of using ItsLearning. For years now, I find myself often wishing this feature existed within this platform. Because it doesn't, I go elsewhere to develop assessments. It would be a much more efficient use of time for teachers and students if ItsLearning had a robust assessment editor as well as all the other great features.

I have the same problem,. You should be able to manually correct score on a individual question. At the same time keeping the autocheck working so the students have a somekind of sense how the test went.

And I agree with the merged idea too.

You aren't understanding what I meant - I can override it in my own personal gradebook, not the one in itsLearning - we don't use the itsLearning gradebook. Since we are off school for several weeks everything is being done online and the students can't see the changes. I mentally readd the points, enter them in a separate gradebook, and then I have to personally message them to let them know.

I really like the idea of automatic grading but I need to be able to give points to students in the test that have actually earned them. I'm already working 12 hour days with quarantine. This is adding unnecessary steps.

Thanks for the idea. As you say you can override in the grade book, so students do not miss out. We will leave on the ideas portal to see if other teachers agree. We will also let the team know about the suggesion.
