Teachers Need a Way to Log Absences Ahead of Time – Here’s Why

Currently, it is not possible to register attendance or behavior in advance.

Students often inform teachers during the week that they will miss the next weeks lesson, using various methods: verbal messages, itslearning messages, Google Chat, email, etc. Teachers need to record this information in the attendance system as soon as they receive it. Without this option, it becomes very difficult for teachers to remember which students informed them of their absence for valid reasons — reasons that should not negatively affect their attendance percentage. If the absence should not count negatively, "Not Set" ➖ can be marked directly in the system.

However, as things stand, teachers must wait until the lesson begins and have to register all absences in the same way, even for students who gave polite and timely notice.

Please remove the restriction on registering attendance or behavior in advance. Thank you 🙏🏻.

Hi, Thank you for sharing this thoughtful suggestion! We agree that allowing teachers to register attendance in advance could streamline their workflow and address this challenge. However, at this time, working on the attendance system is not part of our current roadmap. We truly appreciate your input and will keep this idea in mind for future developments.

    Thanks,
