Restore negative scoring for Multiple Choice questions in the Test tool
The previous Test tool allowed formula scoring, where an incorrect answer in a single-choice multiple-choice question reduced the score (e.g. -0.5 points or a configurable penalty). This was an effective way to discourage random guessing and is widely used in higher education and professional examinations. However, in order for this to be an effective deterrent, the function should allow for the final score to be below 0.

Thank you for your idea. We currently have no plans to support a negative score for questions. But we will leave the idea open on the ideas portal so others can vote for it. Ideas with many votes are more likely to become a candidate for development.
