Some students will ask a question using the comments of an announcement. It would be useful so that we could tag students (and users in general) when adding a comment to the announcement.
For example, in my new comment, I would enter "@Wah Au" and the student would be notified that I had replied to their comment.
The benefits would be that; students are notified when they receive a reply, teachers would not need to message them privately, other teachers can reply to the comment (without worrying that a previous student had already messaged the student) and, if it's an answer that is relevant to other students then the answer is also visible in the comments for them too.

Thank you for your idea. This is not something we have currently planned, but we will leave the idea on the idea portal so it can collect votes. Ideas with many votes are re-evaluated.
