Search by and show category in Discussions

Would be great to search threads by category.  I like the ability to add categories to a discussion and then apply those categories to each new thread.  However, I can not see the category until I open the actual thread.  It would be helpful if I could sort and filter by the category and if the category was shown in appropriate color in thread title on main thread list.
