Make 'Open in new tab' work properly

It would be useful if 'Open in new tab' would work properly on the links in the header of a course (Overview, Plans, Resources etc). Currently this does open a new page but this page is missing the header, which makes navigation quite difficult.

    Hi,
thanks for your idea! I can totally see what you are thinking of, but we decided to not show the top banner for a specific purpose. Each layer of menu adds to the realestate available on the screen. By removing the menus when these are opened in a new window, there will be more space for the content itself, which aids teachers who have a smaller screen (e.g. phone, tablet or laptop). A second reason is when teachers would like to share their screen in a class room setting. This will allow them to e.g. share the plans, without showing the students the number of notifications and messages and other menu items that might draw their attention.

You do have the oppertunity to open the whole course in a new tab (from the home page). I couple of more clicks, but they you'll have all the menus at your disposal in all tabs.

    Thanks,
    The itslearning Product team
