The gap exercises that ItsLearning has programmed for teachers to use in exams is
flawed. Students can’t submit their exercises after the time has been reached. It kicks you out instantly, without a choice. Adding to this, your solutions don’t get saved and you, by that principle, have got everything wrong.
How do we fix this problem, though? When the time is reached students should have the ability to submit it, they simply shouldn’t be able to actually edit their given answers. It could also automatically submit the test when the time has come. The current system simply does not make any sense at all, and is, if I dare say, unfair.

Hi
It is a bit hard to understand exactly where your problem is, but we know there could be some issues in certain situations. We currently have auto-submit when the deadline is reached. The student answer to a question is saved whenever the student clicks previous/next/complete, and tests with all questions on one page should also be handled. However we know that answers on the question currently displayed when the test auto-submits might not be saved.
There is a short grace-period to allow students to submit when the deadline is reached. Once that passes, the test is auto-submitted.
We do have plans to try to make this a bit better.
If you have scenarios where this simply does not work, please contact our support team.
Thanks,
The itslearning Product Team.
