When a learner uses "Forgot password?", The system asks for their email address.
He then receives an email with a link to change the password.
It is therefore requested "old password" and a double entry of the new password.
An incredible number of students type in the "old password" box the one we gave them initially or the one they had changed and which they remember. They do not understand that this is the temporary password that you pass on. (I find that incredible, yet it is simple).
Some others type in the new password the one you sent; temporary.
Wouldn't it be simpler to generate a reset link and only suggest the change; only the two "new password" fields? Many web platforms now work this way.
