Sometimes a teacher might check an assignment submission and decide that it needs to be resubmitted. There is already good functionality in itsearning to deal with this. However, when a student resubmits, he/she may delete the original submission (the word file or whatever it was). In this situation, the teacher will not have access to the original file submitted for his/her assessment. It would be useful if the original file was saved in such cases, because then the teacher could compare it to the new submission and see what changes have been made.

This came up today in a plagiarism situation- the student was able to go in a delete entire assignment when they found out they'd be getting in trouble, and retype the submission- There will be no "record" of the original submission other than an email saying she submitted "something" at an earlier date and time. Records/ history of each submission would be incredibly helpful!
