Custom activities - students should be allowed to add comments when they self-report that the activity is completed

Custom activities can be just about anything. Sometimes I need a bit more information from the students than just the fact that the activity is completed, e.g. if they were allowed to choose among several possible activities. Therefore, students should be allowed to add comments when they self-report that the activity is completed, in the same way I can if I am the one reporting who has completed the task.
